India loses to Iran in Asian Men’s Basketball

India lost to title-favourites Iran 58-102 in the second round of the 27th Asian Men’s Basketball Champiownship, on Monday. Iran maintained their dominance right through the four quarters, winning 2512, 2610, 2717, 2419 in the opening match of the second round at Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay. Five Iran players, led by Hamed Afagh’s 16, scored in double figures. Samad Nikkhah Bahrami and Hamed Haddadi notched 15 and 12 points respectively.

Vishesh Bhriguvanshi was the best Indian performer with 15 points, while Narender Kumar Grewal and Amjyot Singh chipped in with 10 points each. India face China on Tuesday.
