Military officials from India and China held a Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) on Friday. Both the sides committed themselves towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace and tranquility along the Line of Actual Control (LoAC).
The Chinese hosted the BPM, opposite Bum La in Arunachal Pradesh, in which Brigadier DS Kushwah, Commander of Tawang Brigade, led the Indian delegation, while Colonel Tang Fu Cheng, Commander of TsonaDzong Garrison, led the Chinese side, defence sources said.
The Indian delegation crossed the international border for the meeting marked by unfurling of the national flags of both the countries, followed by a formal address by the leaders of the two sides. Both the delegations interacted with each other in a friendly environment and parted amidst feelings of commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace and tranquility along the Line of Actual Control, sources said. They also sought to build on the mutual feeling to uphold the treaties signed between the governments of the two sides to maintain peace along the LoAC, they said.
