The police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a man who was allegedly involved in supplying illegal sophisticated weapons in Delhi and the National Capital Region. ‘A huge racket has been busted with the arrest,’ police claimed.
The man named Raju Dabar (30) hails from Madhya Pradesh. Four revolvers, six pistols and 10 live cartridges were reportedly recovered from his possession. A police officer said, ‘The recovered weapons have been manufactured using high proficiency and skill. They appear to be absolutely genuine.
One can hardly detect that it is an imitation.’ The arrest follows a long and tiring quest by the crime branch officers that began in February. Investigations had revealed that illegal weapons being manufactured in Munger (Bihar) and Dhar (Madhya Pradesh) were being supplied in Delhi and surrounding areas.
Dabar’s interrogation has revealed that his gang is headed by a man named Sarwan, who is involved in this trade since the four-five years. Investigators says that the gang has supplied
more than 200–250 sophisticated weapons to various persons.
