IGNOU to get high-definition television with Japanese aid

Under the grant-in-aid project, Strengthening of Electronic Media Production Centre in Indira Gandhi National Open University,  within the bilateral cooperation between the governments of Japan and India, IGNOU is poised for a major technological up-gradation in terms of its broadcasting channels.

Under the project, the existing standard definition television production facilities would be replaced by high definition television production equipment to keep pace with the changing trends in the media sector.

Gopinath Pradhan,vice chancellor, IGNOU said, the university would benefit a lot with the high quality audio/visual content utilising the new high definition forma.

Under the project, the Japanese technical experts will provide, install, test and commission the ‘state-of-art’ television equipment and provide operational training.
