IAS officers demand ‘independent board’ for transfers, postings

The Association of Indian Administrative Service Officers had a meeting on Wednesday evening in which they demanded <g data-gr-id="12">formation</g> of an “independent board” for transfer and posting of IAS officers. 

“The members unanimously opposed character assassination  of senior IAS officers,” said Umesh Sehgal, former Chief Secretary of Delhi, who is also the chairperson of the association. The meeting which continued till late night was attended by around 100 members out of which 60 are serving as IAS officers in Delhi and the rest have retired. “The association passed 4-5 proposals which will be submitted to LG Najeeb Jung, Delhi CM and also to the national unit of the association,” he added. 

The meeting was also attended by Shakuntala Gamlin and Secretary to Arvind Kejriwal. A resolution that the officers from outside the AGMUT cadre should not be given posting in Delhi was passed. Any proposal to go on symbolic “pen drop strike” was denied.


Four IAS officers transferred
NEW DELHI: Transfer orders of as many as four bureaucrats were issued on Wednesday. The said IAS officers include DP Dwivedi, Garima Gupta, A Mona and Madhu Rani <g data-gr-id="50">Teotia</g>. Dwivedi is an IAS officer of 2002 batch and joined the Delhi government as Special Secretary, Finance. Garima Gupta of 2004 batch, Additional Secretary in Health & Family Welfare has now been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner in South District on deputation basis. A Mona of 2006 batch, was posted as Director of Mission Convergence Samajik Suvidha Sangam) as well as holding additional charge as Director in National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and Project Director (CAT) is now repatriated and posted as Deputy Commissioner (South Delhi Municipal Corporation) on deputation. Madhu Rani <g data-gr-id="51">Teotia</g>, a 2008-batch IAS officer, Deputy Commissioner (North) shall now hold additional charge as Delhi Jal Board Secretary.mpost
