A youth was killed while his brother is battling for his life after they deliberately entered into a sewer to find some gold particles in Karol Bagh area of central Delhi this morning.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Lallan (22) while his brother was identified as Punnu (19). Both were natives of UP and live in the JJ cluster at Beadon Pura in the Capital. Police said that they received a call regarding a body that was floating inside an open sewer situated in Lane number 28, Beadon Pura. A team was sent to the spot which fished out the body and rushed to the Lady Harding hospital where Punnu was admitted.
Meanwhile, locals said Lane Number 28 is flooded with many small production units, which make gold ornaments. It has been noticed by the locals that some of the small gold particles often fall into the sewer, hence, some people enter into the sewer putting their lives at risk.
