Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta was arrested by the Delhi police on Friday morning on charges of vandalising the Pakistani International Airlines office at Barakhamba road in New Delhi on Thursday.

The incident took place at around 3.15 pm on Thursday when four people entered the fifth floor office at Narayan Manzil in the outer fringes of Connaught Place. They went inside all the three rooms, broke furniture and computers. They also raised allegedly anti-Pakistan slogans and scattered pamphlets and dismantled a miniature replica of an aeroplane placed near the reception desk. “We have arrested Vishnu Gupta but are yet to arrest the other members who were involved in vandalism,” said Jatin Narwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi).

Gupta has been arrested under Sections 120B (being party to a criminal conspiracy), 147 (rioting), 149 (being the member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 427 (mischief causing damage to property) and 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) of the IPC, said the police.

According to the police, they were able to arrest one of the members of the group identified as Lalit Singh while three others managed to escape the scene. The members also left pamphlets which said,” There should be no talks with Pakistan unless they take stern action against people who have caused damage to India and hand over people like Dawood Ibrahim and Hafiz Saeed to India.” Vishnu Gupta also tweeted, “@narendramodi Teri tanashahi nahi chalegi kisi aatanki ke khilaf aisi karyawahi ki kabhi, Modi ke liye karya karke maine bhul ki (I made a mistake by working for Modi). However, the tweet was not visible later when Millennium Post searched for it on Gupta’s Twitter handle.
