Vowing to act tough against taxi aggregators for surge pricing, the Delhi government on Monday launched a helpline for the public to register their complaints.
“If any taxi is overcharging anyone on the name of surge pricing then please call and register complaints on 011-42400400. We will take stern action,” Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai tweeted on Monday.
The Delhi government on Monday impounded over 50 taxis of app-based cab aggregators such as Uber for invoking surge pricing in a drive that continued late into the night, a day after Kejriwal warned of strong action. Rai also announced a dedicated helpline for passengers to lodge complaints against those violating the Delhi government’s directive against surge pricing. Hundreds of calls were received on the helpline number since Monday morning.
