HC notice to former ACP on woman cop’s rape charge

Update: 2014-11-17 23:44 GMT
Delhi High Court has sought a response from the city police and a retired ACP on a plea filed by a woman constable seeking his arrest for allegedly cheating and raping her.

Justice Pratibha Rani issued notice to the police commissioner, the deputy commissioner of south district and Rajender Singh, the retired ACP, and asked them to file their response by 17 December.

The woman approached the court seeking direction for police to arrest Rajender Singh and transfer the probe to the CBI as the Delhi Police had not been taking any action against the former ACP.

Filing the plea through advocate RD Rana, the woman alleged that she had known Rajender Singh from 1994 when he was the SHO of the Hauz Khas police station and she was a constable there.
