In order to settle the on-going tussle between St Stephen’s College’s administrative officer Subha Kumar Dash and the college principal Valson Thampu, Delhi High Court has urged both parties to bury the hatchet and to work together for the betterment of the institution.
The issue brewed up when Dash alleged that Thampu forced him and his family to convert to Christianity. He was suspended by the principal on December 10, 2014 for “gross misconduct” after which Dash filed a petition in High Court against suspension order. Following that Thampu reinstated him but again suspended him after meeting with governing body.
The Division bench of Delhi High Court comprising of Justice Nandrajog and Justice Pratibha Rani has tried to mediate between the principal and Dash in an attempt to bring harmony back to the institution.
