Haryana petro dealers issue strike threat

Update: 2015-07-18 23:31 GMT
Haryana petroleum dealers on Friday said they will go on an indefinite strike from July 20 in protest against the non-fulfillment of their demands by the state government. “We have decided to go on indefinite strike from July 20 as our demands were not met despite assurances given to us,” Haryana Petroleum Dealers Association Senior Vice President Palwinder Singh Oberoi said on Friday. This decision was taken after a resolution was passed by state petroleum dealers in a meeting held in Rohtak on Friday. Petroleum dealers were agitated over the failure of the Haryana government in keeping the tax on diesel lower than that of neighbouring states for the “survival” of fuel pump owners.
