Haryana ahead of other states in implementing RTE: Bhukkal

Haryana Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal has said that Haryana is ahead of other States in implementing RTE Act. Presiding over the meeting of sub-committee of the Central Advisory Board of Education [CABE] in New Delhi on Wednesday, Bhukkal said that Haryana is now considering to implement RTE at 10+2 level also. The meeting was attended by Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa, Chhattisgarh Minister of School Education Brij Mohan Agarwal , Bihar Minister of HRD Prashant Kumar Sahi, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretay of School Education, Haryana Surina Rajan, besides officers from Bihar, Assam and Chhattisgarh, SCERT, Andhra Pradesh and NCERT. Bhukkal said that RTA is being implemented in all the States. There are some misunderstandings about CCA and ‘no detention’ issues. In Haryana, RTE is being implemented with all sincerity under the guidance of the Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda. School children are being given free text books, school uniforms and scholarships from class one. As a result, the attendance of school children in different classes has increased.
