Haridwar organisation cleans path littered by Kanwariyas

A Haridwar-based spiritual organisation on Friday cleaned the Har Ki Pauri, railway platforms and the connecting roads garbage littered by ‘kanwariyas’. The clean-up exercise undertaken by Gayatri Parivar began at 7 am and went on throughout the day with thousands of its volunteers participating in it, a spokesman said. Kanwariyas had left the entire area from Har ki Pauri to the railway station in a mess littering it with used clothes and <g data-gr-id="10">polythene</g>, he said. More than 3 <g data-gr-id="12">crore</g> Kanwariyas descended on Haridwar over the past ten days during the annual Kanwar <g data-gr-id="11">mela</g> to collect holy waters of the Ganga.
