Gzb police rescue kidnapped toddler

The Ghaziabad police on Friday rescued the son of a businessman who was abducted about one week back from the Shahibad area of the city. Police rescued the two-and-half year old boy from a factory in Delhi. Four persons were also arrested in the case.

The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh and also threatened to kill the child.

The police, after receiving a tip-off conducted raids at several hideouts in Harsh Vihar, Burari, Gokulpuri and Brijpuri areas or Delhi. The child was rescued in a midnight raid from Burari and nabbed four abductors — Kamal, Praveen, Jahin and Aarif, all residents of Ghaziabad.

Police claimed that Kamal, the mastermind of the kidnapping, was a neighbour of the businessman.

He, along with Jahin had kidnapped the boy from outside his house and took him to a factory in Burari.

‘Three country-made pistols, one pistol and one bike have been recovered from the accused. One of the co-accused Dev is said to be absconding’, said Dharmendra Singh Yadav, Senior Superintendent of Police of Ghaziabad.
