Gurgaon health authorities seize illegal drugs from pvt hospital

The district health authorities of Gurgaon raided Kriti Hospital, a private hospital in Sector 56 on Friday after a few drugs were found to be kept in the basement of the hospital premises without acquiring required permission.

The raid was conducted after the authorities got a tip-off from a patient. The hospital reportedly had a stock of allopathic medicine and injections, which include Rx, NRx and XRx. The authorities recovered 19 such drugs from the hospital.

Neither the hospital authorities nor the owner of the hospital could provide any certificate of registration for stocking these medicines that comes under narcotic drugs.

“The drugs can be misused and thus keeping them without permission is a threat to any patient’s health. We have sent the samples of the drugs to an authorised laboratory,” said Amardeep Chauhan, drug controller.
