Guj ATS nabs ’93 RDX landing case accused from Bijnor

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) apprehended an accused involved in the Gosabara RDX and arms landing case, in which 1993 Mumbai serial blasts accused Dawood Ibrahim is named as one of the key conspirators, from UP.

Based on a tip-off, one Ishtiyak Ahmed Ansari (46) was arrested from his native village of Kiratpur in UP’s Najibabad tehsil in Bijnor on Tuesday, stated a Gujarat ATS press release. Ansari was part of a conspiracy, in which Ibrahim allegedly sent a huge cache of RDX explosives and arms, including AK-47 rifles, from Karachi through sea route to Gujarat to avenge Babri mosque demolition in 1993, it said.
