Govt workshop on rural housing

Seeking to provide affordable housing choices in rural areas, Government has organized a workshop tomorrow to brainstorm on rural housing technology to achieve the goal of 'Housing for All by 2022'.

<g data-gr-id="13">Government</g> had on Wednesday given its approval for the launch of the 'Housing for All by 2022' scheme paving the way for affordable homes to the urban poor and slum dwellers at <g data-gr-id="14">low interest</g> rates.
The national workshop on affordable rural housing technology to be organized by the Ministry of Rural Development tomorrow is expected to come out with clear action points for a way forward in the rural housing sector.

The event aims at improving the quality, design and delivery of affordable rural housing to the grassroots level by helping the end users to make improved and informed choices.

The government would need a huge Rs 6 lakh crore in the next five years for training <g data-gr-id="34">programmes</g> to make people employable, a Union Minister said on Thursday. "Countries which have high skilled workforce have high per capita income. Education is <g data-gr-id="32">important</g> but 12 years of education will not make you <g data-gr-id="33">employable</g> but 12 weeks of skill training will. We are now integrating it with education which should have done years ago," MoS for Skill Development Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.
