Govt to provide Audio Books for Visually challenged children, says KD Singh
KD Singh, MP, Rajya Sabha, has tabled a Special Mention in the Parliament, wherein he has appealed to the government to compulsorily provide Audio books for visually impaired children in India. He said that we have not been able to comprehend the magnitude of the problems faced by visually impaired children. Though, Braille text books have been provided, but these are not readily available and therefore it further compounds the problem for these children during their learning years. KD Singh has drawn the attention of the government to the fact that India retains the unfortunate global distinction of having the largest number of people with visual impairment which is estimated to be over 50 million.
