Govt sanctions 10 school building projects

Principal Secretary (Public Works Department) Arun Baroka informed of the decision on Wednesday. The project cost will be Rs 174 crore approximately. The tender for these projects have already been initiated. 

Estimates for 10 more schools have been submitted to the government for which the building plan has already been approved by the local bodies. These 10 schools are also likely to be sanctioned soon. Sufficient budget provisions have been provided in the current financial year 2014-15 for taking up construction of these schools,’ said Baroka.

All these schools will have provision of lifts for facilitating handicapped students and teachers, Baroka said.

Baroka further informed that the construction of the buildings will take about 15 months time. The school building will be a four storeyed one having total plinth area of 6000 sqm approx. The school building will have permanent RCC frame structure with external finish of stone cladding. Improved specifications have been provided for the building.
