A 51-year-old doctor at a government hospital has been arrested for allegedly raping a 21-year-old patient in a clinic in north-east Delhi's Seelampur area.

'On Tuesday, the chief medical officer, identified as Narendra Singh, of Jag Pravesh Chandra hospital, advised the victim to undergo an ultrasound test and took her to a clinic outside the hospital for the same. When the victim reached the clinic, the doctor raped her after offering her a drink laced with sedatives,' a police official said.

The reports confirmed rape.

The official added that as per the description given by the victim, a resident of the same area, a man-hunt was launched to trace the accused. Singh was arrested on Wednesday from his house in Seelampur.
