Infosys Co-Founder and Executive Co-Chairman S Gopalakrishnan has been elected President of the the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the year 2013-14. He succeeds Godrej Group Chairman Adi Godrej, CII said in a statement on Friday.
A Padma Bhushan recipient, Gopalakrishnan was recently voted the top CEO (IT services category) in Institutional Investor's inaugural ranking of Asia's Top Executives and selected as one of the winners of the second Asian Corporate Director Recognition Awards by Corporate Governance Asia.
An alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), he is also on the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).
