Girl students to get benefit in all 28 govt polytechnic institutes in C’garh

On the initiative of Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh, girls in the state will now be entitled for free education in government polytechnic institutes as well. State Government has decided to provide exemption in tution fee to even those girl students, who have taken admission in academic session 2014-15 and those who are presently pursuing courses in these institutes. 

Living up to his promises in manifestos and budget announcements, chief minister Raman Singh has issued the orders regarding free education facility of girls in all government colleges of state, including the government engineering colleges as well. 

In the same sequence, government polytechnic institutes of state will be providing exemption in tution fees to all the girl students. Presently, about 1400 girl students are pursuing education in 23 polytechnic institutes of Chhattisgarh. With effect of this latest decision of state government, each girl student of these polytechnic institutes will be entitled for exemption in tution fees of Rs 5000.
Officials of Directorate of Technical Education told that state government has taken the decision of opening five new polytechnic institutes in state in this academic session. With that, the girl students of state will be able to avail free education in total 28 government polytechnic institutes of Chhattisgarh. 

On instructions of technical education minister Premprakash Pandey, Department has issued orders in the context. Minister Pandey said that this decision of Raman Singh’s government will largely benefit and encourage those girls of state, who are interested in pursuing career in the filed of engineering.
