Delhi Police have arrested a 19-year-old girl accused of hatching a conspiracy to kill Vipin Chaudhary, the 24-year-old driver of murdered MLA Bharat Singh who was shot at by five unidentified men in Outer Delhi’s Rohini area on Tuesday evening.
According to the police, the reason behind the murder of Vipin Chaudhary dates back to a long standing rivalry between Udaiveer and Krishan Pehalwan, the brother of deceased INLD MLA Bharat Singh. In 2002, Udaiveer’s father Surajmal and uncle Sukhbir Singh were killed in Sonipat, Haryana. Vipin used to work as a driver for Bharat Singh and since he was allegedly close to Pehalwan’s family, after Singh’s death, he started working as a driver for Pehalwan. To eliminate Vipin, who was a close aide of Bharat Singh, he was eliminated by Udaiveer’s gang.
According to the police, the accused girl has been identified as Alisha. On the insistence of a person named Aditya Shokeen, the nephew of Udaiveer, she came in contact with Vipin through a social networking site. She revealed during interrogation that she had known Vipin for a month and had met him twice.
Sources said that the men who killed Vipin came in two i-20 cars with one car’s number plate missing while the number plate of the second car being fake. “On December 8, at around 5.40 pm, Alisha asked Vipin to meet her near Rithala Metro station and informed Aditya about this. She convinced him to take her to an isolated spot near Japanese Park where Aditya along with Hemant and other accomplices were waiting for Vipin,” said Vikramjit Singh, deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer). “Based on technical surveillance and local intelligence, we traced the girl to a PG hostel in Gurgaon. After the five men killed Vipin, she fled from the spot in an auto-rickshaw.” added the official.
