Girl alleges rape by property dealer in Noida

A 21-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a property dealer in his office on pretext to show her a room in Noida’s Sector 27 on Sunday night.

Police have registered a case and have sent the girl for medical check up. However, no arrest have been made as the accused was at large.

Police said the incident was reported late Sunday evening when the girl, a native of Bulandsahar district who works as an executive in a private company in Noida, approached Sector 20 police station. The girl, in her complaint said while searching for a room in the city, she contacted property dealer, Mohan Awana, in Sector 27. Awana asked her to visit his office in the same area. He assured her to show few rooms after reaching the office.

The victim alleged when she met the property dealer to discuss about rented accommodations, he forcibly dragged her to a secluded place inside his office and allegedly raped her.

She also alleged Awana was under the influence of alcohol while committing the crime.

He allegedly, also threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to police.

However, the girl managed to reach police station. On her complaint, the police have registered a case and have launched a man hunt to nab the accused. The police also conducted raids at his home and other whereabouts, but in vain. “We have been searching the accused and have sent the girl for medical examination also,” said a police officer investigating the case.
