Two FIRs against as many as 203 persons in total were registered at the Udyog Vihar police station after the violent incident on Thursday afternoon, in which more than 1,000 workers from two garment export companies went into a vandalising spree. However, no person was arrested till Friday night.

In the first of the two FIRs, the complainant happens to be the workers and the accused are three security guards who allegedly thrashed a worker for reporting late in the morning two days before the incident. The accused had reportedly gone missing after the incident and the police launched a man-hunt on Friday night to nab them as soon as possible. Their names were not disclosed for convenience in investigation.

In the second FIR, the complainants are the two companies and the accused happen to be as many as 200 workers who vandalised their offices. All of them have been booked under charges of rioting. “In fact, the complainant companies have named Shammi Chand, the worker who was allegedly beaten up by the guard, to be the mastermind behind the alleged conspiracy. However, investigations so far hasn’t revealed Shammi Chand to be the main accused as such, though he could be present there during the incident,” said a senior police official.

With regard to the second FIR, the police is in the process of collecting CCTV footages from hundreds of corporate premises that surround the area where the conflicts took place.
