Who doesn’t like being complimented? Everyone wants to stand out from the crowd.  ‘You look Gorgeous!’ Doesn’t that remark bring happiness to you and make you blush? However, it is not the heaps of makeup that give you the perfect look. Good hairdo, subtle makeup with a perfect stroke of blush, right amount of mascara, eyeliner and arch eyebrows, all bunched together make the difference.

However, not everyone knows how to put makeup according to their faces. Sometimes we just land up doing the wrong makeup at the wrong occasion. There are steps which one should follow to get that right look. The most prominent part of the face are the eyes. Hence, one must take proper care while doing eye makeup. According to makeup artist Nirmal Randhawa, “Never apply a dark eyeliner on your bottom water line, as this will make your eyes look even smaller. Instead swipe a thin line on your top lash line and the outer corner of your bottom lash line to gently frame your eyes. Likewise, while using a particular lip shade one must select it according to one’s skin tone. For the ones who have fair skin, bold reds and dark colours can be a fun way to play up your makeup, while the ones with olive skin tone, could opt nude, red, pink, orange shades. The ones with a darker complexion, look fantastic with deep plums, berries and reds.”

However, when it comes to applying eye-shadows, Dr Blossom Kochhar, beauty expert says, “Using complimentary colours or contrasting colours to the colour of your dress will not just draw emphasis to your eyes but will also be more pleasing. For instance, when donning a blue dress, use pink eye shadow and for a green dress use bronze eye-shadow”.

One should also make sure that the makeup is done according to the occasion. “During a day party, the lip colour should be soothing, keeping the eye makeup light and natural. However, for night parties dramatic eyes with glitters and shimmers should be used and the new trend to have neon lip colour that glows in the dark are perfect for party purpose,” says Kochhar.

For a glowing skin, a nutrition-rich diet along with daily physical activity, and a regular intake of vitamin C- are some helpful tips. Apart from this sunlight exposure should be reduced. While the Sun is a great source of vitamin D, morning sun from 7 am to 9 am is good for the skin. However, after this avoiding the Sun is very essential especially from 10 am to 2 pm, advices Randhawa.
