She hung herself in the same room where her 23-year-old daughter, former director in domestic MDLR Airlines, was found last August.
In her suicide note, Sharma said she was going to meet Geetu (Geetika). Reportedly, the victim was alone at home.
When her brother, who stays in the same locality, went to meet her and did not get any response, he informed her husband and neighbours.
‘We recovered a suicide note from her side-table,’ said a police official. The two-page note read, ‘I love both my children very much. I am missing Geetu a lot so I am going to meet her. Don’t bring my body back home after post-mortem. Take it directly for cremation.’
A source in police said in the next page of the note, she has blamed Gopal Goyal Kanda, former Sirsa MLA and chairman of the MDLR Airlines, and Aruna Chadha, senior manager of MDLR Airlines, for taking away her daughter’s life.
‘On the basis of the suicide note, we have booked Kanda and Chadha under sections 306 (abetment to suicide) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code,’ said P Karunakaran, deputy commissioner of police (north-west).
Karunakaran said Sharma’s mobile phone was taken into possession.
The suicide note has been sent for examination to verify the hand writing. The official added the body has been sent for post-mortem.
