With the onset of spring, the time arrives when the national Capital would be adorned with nature’s most precious jewel i.e. flora. The 29th Garden Tourism Festival, organised by Delhi Tourism, will be held from February 19-21 at Garden of Five Senses. The three-day extravaganza will showcase variety of flora and fauna which will charm garden enthusiasts.
The event would be inaugurated by Manish Sisodia, Deputy CM of Delhi in the presence of Kapil Mishra, Minister for Tourism. The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Garden for Environment & Health’. The major participating horticulture departments would be of GNCTD and NCR. Garden Tourism Festival is organised at the sprawling 22 acres at Garden of Five Senses.
Kapil Mishra, Minister for Tourism said: “The annual festival will present floral displays, theme gardens, horticultural demonstrations and other activities. There will be shuttle services, cultural programmes, stalls serving seven cuisines, and stalls selling organic tea. The festival will showcase variety of flowers, potted plants, Bonsai, etc. The stalls have been allotted through fair and transparent online methods.”
All the exhibits during GTF are evaluated by the judges from respective horticulture area. There will be competitions organised in 30 categories such as potted plants, Dahlia, hanging baskets, foliages Plants, cactus and succulents, aromatic/herbal and medicinal plants, annual cut flowers in earthen vases, vegetables flower decoration, flower arrangements and roses etc.
All the exhibits during Garden Tourism Festival will be evaluated by the judges from respective horticulture areas. There will be separate sections to sell the plants, horticulture equipments, pesticides, fertilisers and other general items etc. This will provide an added advantage for the visitors to buy gardening equipments and saplings under one roof.
The festival is sure to enthrall the nature lovers and will provide a delightful experience to all.
