The administration announced the formation of the groups, after holding a meeting with representatives of 20 villages. Since Sunday evening, the region has witnessed two incidents of <g data-gr-id="32">brawl</g> after rumour regarding cow slaughter spread.
However, the police have already registered cases in this regard and claimed to have controlled the situation.
“After discussions with villagers, we have decided to form groups, which will include representatives of all communities living in the village concerned. The group members will meet after a certain period to discuss the situation. Representatives from the administration and the law enforcement agency will also assist them. If required, they will initiate action against people involved in disrupting peace. The District Magistrate (DM), will himself, review the situation,” said a senior district official.
Gautam Budh Nagar NP Singh said: “In order to maintain law and order situation and avoid any untoward incident, the administration has initiated a few steps. The village heads have been asked to check the facts and take measures if required.”
The area is boiling in the <g data-gr-id="28">Bisada</g> village of Dadri in Greater Noida after the killing of 50-year-old Akhlaq over <g data-gr-id="29">beef eating</g>. With heavy forces deployed in the village, peace has been retuned to <g data-gr-id="30">Bisada</g>.
But a Muslim woman in the area plotted to eliminate her husband to avail a big compensation from the district administration and the UP Chief minister. The police said she, along with her relative, allegedly hatched a plan to kill her husband Shabir Ali, who works as a carpenter, and link his death to the clash after Akhlaq’s death.
On Sunday night, tension sparked in <g data-gr-id="27">Chithera</g> village, when villagers found a cow carcass on the outskirts. The police rushed the spot and controlled the situation. An FIR was also registered against unknown persons under sections of cow slaughter.
