Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Railways, Dr. C P Joshi will lay the Foundation Stone for the commencement of work on four-laning of Gomati ka Chauraha-Udaipur Section of National Highway-8 [NH-8] in the State of Rajasthan under National Highway Development Project [NHDP] Phase IV on 17 Oct 2012. The foundation laying ceremony will take place at Gomati Chauraha on NH-8, District Rajasamand, Rajasthan. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot will also be especially present on the occasion. The 83-KM long section will be on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and transfer basis on Toll. NH-8 having a length of 1375km passes through cities of Delhi-Jaipur-Ajmer-Udaipur-Ahmedabad-Vadodara-Mumbai encompassing states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Out of 1375km length of NH-8, 13km is in Delhi, 101km in Haryana, 635km in Rajasthan, 498km in Gujarat and 128km in Maharashtra. Name of city/town falling on the project highway are Gomati, Padsali, Kelwa, Pasund, Rajnagar, Piparada, Nathdwara, Oden, Ghoda Ghati, Negadia, Delwara, Eklingji, Chirva and Sukhar [Udaipur].
