A major fire broke out in a truck market in North Delhi’s Gulabi Bagh area on Tuesday evening in which three persons were killed. Two of the three have been identified as Shamsher singh (35), Dhruv (26) while the third person is yet to be identified.
According to the fire department officials, they got a call at around 7.50 pm that a fire broke out at a spot where kilning work was being carried out. Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
“We have registered a case under the hazardous sections of the IPC. Preliminary investigation suggests that it was an accidental fire. Further investigation is on,” said a senior police officer.
On the other hand, a fire broke out in a factory near Prembari Pul in Wazirpur Industrial area on Tuesday evening in which a 50-year-old woman died identified as Prabhavati. According to the fire department officials, fire broke out in a factory which extracts metals from scrap which is on the first floor of the building. On the ground floor there is a rolling mill.
As per the sources in the Fire department, the fire broke out due to the process of extracting metals from electronic scrap. The employer of the factory is absconding while the in-charge of the factory suffered burns while fighting the fire. Seven people were admitted to the Bhagvan Mahavir Hospital. Rest of the people are being shifted to Safdarjung Hospital.
