Four arrested in connection with W Delhi burglary case

Delhi Police have arrested four persons in connection to a burglary case that took place on May 10 in West Delhi’s Kirti Nagar area.

The accused have been identified as Karan (25), Ramsurat Tiwari (30), <g data-gr-id="37">Ajimulla</g> (25) and the driver <g data-gr-id="38">Challoo</g> (30). The burgled amount  of Rs 40 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh have also been recovered in their search.

According to the police, the incident took place on May 9 when Satish Kumar Wadhwa (59), a businessman had gone to attend a religious programme at Shubh Nimantaran Banquet Hall in Kirti Nagar along with family. 

Upon returning, he found that the main door and almirahs were broke open, and cash of about Rs 40-42 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh had been stolen.

The probe was conducted in accordance to the clues given by the prima facie who had suggested <g data-gr-id="36">involvement</g> of an insider in the crime. During <g data-gr-id="34">investigation</g>, Challo, Wadhwa’s driver was found to be the mastermind of this crime. He had conspired with other notorious burglars of his native place in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. 

The teams sent to Gonda conducted various raids at suspected hideouts to nab the culprits.

“Finally, <g data-gr-id="41">Challoo</g> was apprehended from Gonda. He was put to sustained interrogation to know about the details of the crime. After a little dodging, he spewed out the truth and at his instance his co-associates Ajimullah and Ramsurat Tiwari were apprehended. At the instance of <g data-gr-id="42">Challoo</g>, Rs 12 lakh cash and Rs 5 lakh cash from Ajimullah, Rs 6 lakh cash from Ramsurat Tiwari were recovered,” Pushpendra Kumar, DCP (West) said.

Another team has been sent to Ludhiana, Punjab, to arrest the other co-associate Karan, he added.
After the incident, Delhi Police have appealed to all Delhiites to get their driver’s and domestic help’s verification done from the local police station.
