‘Dinesh, who is the mastermind, had information that the victim - Raffique -- had recently sold a property and had good amount of money with him,’ said deputy commissioner of police (central) Alok Kumar.

Dinesh with his accomplices made a plan and abducted Raffique on 22 December. They made a ransom call of Rs 10 lakh to his relatives to release him, he said.

On receiving the information of the incident by a relative of Raffique, a case was registered and investigation was taken up.

‘The police initially made several raids in the area based on technical inputs but it did not yield much result.

The kidnappers gave police a clue when they made a call and demanded money to be paid at Chandausi Railway station,’ said Kumar.
