Former Jamia V-C critical after road accident

Former vice-chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia University, professor Mushirul Hasan, met with a severe road accident on Saturday. His condition is reported to be critical and he is currently being treated at Apollo Hospital in Delhi.

According to a source, Hasan (67) was on his way to Mewat (Haryana) on Saturday morning, with two other friends, when a truck hit the rear portion of his car on the highway around 11.30 am. His vehicle was pushed forward by the impact and it hit another truck, which it was following on the highway.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, from where he was rushed to Apollo hospital in Delhi and had to undergo an immediate surgery. He suffered from serious injuries on his head and neck.

“There was a head on collision with a dumper and he sustained head injuries. He was rushed to Apollo hospital and is undergoing surgery,” said one his close associates.

“A team of neurosurgeons are operating on him. He sustained head injury following an accident,” said a doctor in Apollo.
