This one is a must for the theatre lovers. The Yuva Natya Utsav 2014, organised by the Sahitya Kala Parishad and the Department of Art, Culture and Languages, Government of Delhi, is all set to take over the Capital stage.
Kicking off from 10 February, Delhi will witness a host of plays written and directed by the youth staged every day at Sri Ram Center for Art and Culture, Mandi House. The first day hosts the play Mahabhoj, directed by Tariq Hameed and written by Mannu Bhandari. Day two has Kaal Kothari, directed by-Atul Satya Kaushik and written by Swadesh Deepak. 12 February has Surya Ki Antim Kiran Se Surya Ki Pehli Kiran Tak directed by Raj Narayan Dixit and written by Surendra Verma.
Swapanvasdatta, directed By Ramji Bali and written by Mahakavi Bhaas will be staged on 13 February. 14 February has Ek Kanth Vishpaayi, directed by Rajesh Tiwari and written by Dushyant Kumar and 15 February has Sabse Udaas Kavita, directed by Mritunjay Prabhakar and written by Swadesh Deepak. The last day will witness Hanush, directed by Himansu B. Joshi and written by Bhishm Sahni.
The entry for all these plays are free, so make sure you head over on time. The plays are scheduled for 6:30 pm every evening.
Sahitya Kala Parishad, the cultural wing of the Government of NCT of Delhi was setup in 1968 for the promotion and propagation of Art and Culture in Delhi. The Chief Minister of Govt. of NCT of Delhi is the Chairperson of the Sahitya Kala Parishad.
As one of the most interactive department of the Delhi Government, Sahitya Kala Parishad for the past three decades and more has been carrying out its mandate with full vigor and dedication.
The Parishad has, on one hand, revived and projected the age old, time tested traditions of the country and on the other hand, it has tried to encourage and provide platform to the new and innovative trends in plastic and performing arts which represent our lives and times. Parishad's programmes are, at the same time, deep rooted in traditions and also branching out towards open skies crossing the boundaries of caste, creed, color and geographic limits. Its projects and programmes concentrate more on youth, women and weaker sections of society.
