It was an evening marked by melodious renditions of the legendary Pakistani singer Attaullah Khan and India’s Sufi ki Sultana Harshdeep Kaur who mesmerised the audience and took them on a musical ride. The concert, Ibaadat Mehfil-e-Ruhaaniyat at Purana Quila marked the presence of the duo which was organised by NGO AAS supporting the cause of cervical cancer awareness.
It was the first public appereance of Attaullah Khan in India who is popularly known as Lala. The audience was overwhelmed by the atmosphere set by him through his melodious renderings of Seraiki and Punjabi music.While speaking at the conference, the 62-year old singer said ‘The whole concept of Ibaadat is conceptualized by the AAS NGO. It’s a great feeling to be a part of its first edition.
I am very happy about the fact that I have been approached to perform here in India after such a longtime and that too supporting the awareness programme by AAS for Cervical Cancer.’
Khan shared the stage with Kaur, popular playback singer in Bollywood and a well-known Sufi singer. Her voice charged the crowd to wave their hands in the air as she presented some of her popular sufi as well as Bollywood numbers. Speaking to the crowd, she also expressed her views acknowledging the noble cause of the concert. The singing sensation also commented on the friendly relations of Indo-Pakistan.
