A fire broke out at a slum cluster in south-east Delhi’s Andrews Ganj on Wednesday in which around 100 slums were gutted. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. No casualties have been reported so far.
At around 4.15 pm, the Delhi Fire Service got a call from slums informing about the fire. By the
time, the fire tenders reached the spot around 100 slums were engulfed.
‘Some cylinders have exploded but whether it was the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Nobody has been injured in the incident. No deaths have been reported,’ an official in the fire department said.
The fire was doused after struggling for an hour but the locals blamed the department for reaching the spot late.
‘The fire tenders came after half an hour when the call was made,’ a local said.
