The district administration of North-West Delhi inspected Delhi Public School at Rohini on Friday and discovered seven fake Economically Weaker Section (EWS) admission cases at the nursery level.
It was revealed that seven ineligible students were given admissions under EWS quota in the 2015-16 academic sessions. The district administration has lodged an FIR against the school and the parents of the students who have been falsely given admission. The school was also directed to cancel the said admissions. Earlier last month, large numbers of cases were found in other prestigious schools in the North-West part of the city.
“It seems that it is a very big organised racket in connivance with the school managements and the principals,” said a senior government officer. It is important to mention that lakhs of rupees exchange hands in a single admission in prestigious schools like DPS, the officer added.
