Finally, winter arrives in city, Met predicts light rain in coming days

The maximum temperature on Friday was 22.3 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season’s average.

The weatherman said the chill was only going to get worse in the coming days as the icy winds blowing from the Himalaya foothills would gather more momentum.

The met office has also forecast a cloudy Saturday with light rain and thunderstorm in some areas.
“Saturday morning will be misty with shallow fog while the day will be cloudy. Light rain with thunderstorm may occur in some parts of the Capital,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The maximum and the minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 19 degrees and 8 degrees Celsius. “The minimum temperature on Friday settled at 5.1 degrees Celsius, three notches below the average while the maximum humidity was 91 per cent”, the official added.

He further added the Capital would be fog free in the coming days. “The good news is that the Delhi will be fog free as it is expected to remain cloudy for the next few days. However, rain is expected in the next few days which may bring the temperature further down”, he informed.
