Shockingly, filming themselves for over-speeding and clicking group selfies inside the car led to the late night road accident at Noida Link road on Wednesday night. Two engineering students were killed and five persons including three students and a couple sustained serious injuries in the accident.

Sources close to investigation told Millennium Post: ‘The occupants, identified as Vishal, Ujjwal Tyagi, Shubham, Sagar, Samarth and Neeraj, were sitting in the white color WagonR and moving towards Delhi. Samarth, who was at the wheels during the accident, was over-speeding. Meanwhile, the other occupants started clicking selfies and one of them planned to make a video from his mobile phone, only because they were running at a speed more than 150km/hr.’

‘While making the video, he tried to capture the speedo meter of the car but Samarth’s hands on the steering created obstruction. As there was no traffic on the Noida Link road, Samarth raised his hand to make the speed limit visible. In all this, he lost control and their speeding car rammed into a divider hitting an oncoming brand new Swift Dzire,’ the source said.

When senior police officials were contacted they neither refused nor accepted the alleged cause behind the accident. Police, however, ruled out the possibility that the occupants of the WagonR were under the influence of alcohol.

Vishal and Ujjwal succumbed to their injuries whereas other injured persons are still undergoing treatment.
