Sharman Joshi is all set for his first solo hero project in Ferrari Ki Sawari. The actor plays a plump Parsi, complete with a very pointed, sharp nose and popping ears.

‘As an actor, what is most important is that you should be in a relaxed state of mind. You should have faith in yourself. I enjoyed myself. I didn’t get pressurised by the solo role or the fact that it is a very big film,’ says a confident Joshi. ‘This was my approach so that I could give my best. I had to put on about 8 to 10 kg,’ he adds.

The actor, who has earlier marvelled the viewers with his performances in movies like 3 idiots
, Life in a... Metro and Golmaal, feels that a film’s script should be informative and entertaining.

‘A fine novel script is what every actor dreams to be a part of. Ferrari Ki Sawari is a total gamechanger for me. It boasts of an out-of-the-box idea,’ adds Joshi.

The Ferrari used in the film belongs to ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who has reportedly done a cameo in the film.

‘Michael Schumacher had gifted the Ferrari to Sachin and we have used the same Ferrari. That’s all I can say about him. To find out whether he is in the film or not, you will have to watch the film,’ he says.

Boman Irani, who essays the role of a grandfather for the first time in this movie, says: ‘Recently my son got married, and who knows in a year or two I would be a grandfather in real life. I feel may be it has prepared me for the role of a grandfather perfectly.’

Vidya Balan gyrates in an item number for Ferrari. Were there any difficulties to bring her on board? ‘Not at all, Vidya was aware that she had to shake a leg with me, hence she readily agreed,’ Boman adds.

‘The film caters to all kinds of audience. Everyone with a heart would love this movie. Debutant director Rajesh Mapushkar has woven the relationship between a father, a son and a Ferrari with great elan I would say,’ Boman concludes.
