Sohini Roychowdhury returned to the United States of America in September/October 2018 for a series of performances, lecture demonstrations and master classes in Bharatanatyam – in her continuing efforts to connect civilizations by spreading Indian culture, ethos, empathy, and humanism across the world through the arts – the Sohinimoksha way.

Sohini's Fall tour of the USA kicked off with master classes in Bharatanatyam at the prestigious Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan in New York city's Manhattan district. Conducted over three weeks, Sohini welcomed new students – beginners as well as experienced dancers – for her customary 8-hours-per- day intense and interactive training sessions.

During the tour, Sohini also performed solo Bharatanatyam at a number of venues across the

East Coast of the USA, including at the iconic Ananda Ashram in upstate New York, where her performance was in continuation of the Ashram's sterling legacy of hosting legendary performers, including Pandit Ravi Shankar. Her performance repertoire included specially choreographed pieces from her Shakti Series, which fuses dance with storytelling about Durga, Kali and the celebration of womanhood, aiming to remove superficial myths about Indian mythology in the Western world – just so that no Heidi Klum shows up again for a Halloween party in a Goddess Kali costume.

Sohini Roychowdhury, an Indian dancer and choreographer, is also the founder of Sohinimoksha World Dance and Communications and Sohinimoksha Artes de La India in Madrid, Spain.

From performing for Danny Boyle at the Slumdog Millionaire premiere to rocking the Andes with the jingle of her ghungroos in Bogota, to mesmerizing snow-covered Moscow, to enthralling audiences from Adelaide to New York with her stagecraft and performances, Sohini has been a premier ambassador of Indian culture for the last several years.

Her dedication and special talent as an exponent of India's oldest classical dance Bharatanatyam, her unique choreography and stagecraft, her ability to adapt and fuse the best that the world of International dance and music has to offer with her Bharatanatyam based choreographies, her culture, and language bridging communication skills, have all combined together to create the unique world of Sohinimoksha – celebrating the humanism of Rumi, sufi mysticism, the mesmeric quality of vedic and gregorian chants and more.

Sohini's dance troupe consists of her students and dancers, from all over Europe, Latin America, USA, and India, whose performances have been garnering tumultuous audience appreciation, and rave critical reviews everywhere.
