For the love of Tagore

Anindya Narayan Biswas, an officer of the Indian Administrative Service occupies a special position in the arena of Rabindrasangeet because of his baritone voice, unique rendition and capacity to sing not so popular Tagore songs with ease.

A song sung by Anindya in Bengali award-winning  feature film Mayurakshi became very popular. He takes part in musical concert on Tagore all over the country. On November 13, celebrated actor Soumitra Chatterjee  will release a CD incorporating Tagore songs sung by Anindya and his spouse Monidipa.

Noted  music composer Debojyoti Misra and Rabindrasangeet exponent  Abhirup Guhathakurata will be present at the function, which will be held at Press Club.

The couple ha sung five songs each and a duet. Both of them are students of Dakshini, the famous school that teachers  Rabindrasangeet for over the past five decades. They passed out from Dakshini in 1988 and later attended special coaching offered by Rano Guhathakurata.

A former student of Presidency College, Anindya did his Phd in Geology. Despite his busy schedule in the state Power department Anindya's passion for Rabindrasangeet is well known.

The CD will be produced by Bhavna Records and Cassettes.

It will be Monidipa's inaugural debut. Because of her long association with Tagore song, her rendition will be appreciated by the lovers of Tagore songs.
