Fareed Zakaria gets Time column back

Update: 2012-08-18 00:42 GMT
The celebrated Indian-American journalist Fareed Zakaria, 48, who was suspended by Time and CNN last week after he apologised for plagiarising a paragraph from the New Yorker for his Time column, will keep both the jobs.

Time magazine and CNN, both owned by Time Warner, announced on Thursday that after a review of his work they revoked the temporary suspensions of the Mumbai-born Zakaria, who became editor-at-large of Time in 2010 and hosts CNN's flagship foreign affairs show GPS. 'We have completed a thorough review of each of Fareed Zakaria's columns for Time, and we are entirely satisfied that the language in question in his recent column was an unintentional error and an isolated incident for which he has apologised,' Time's statement read.

Time said that Zakaria's column would resume with its 7 September issue.

In a separate statement CNN said that Zakaria's weekly GPS would be back on the air 26 August.
