A court here has dismissed the plea of former Delhi police inspector Sardar Puran Singh, an alleged aide of multi-crore fake stamp paper scam kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi, seeking production of files pertaining to over a decade-old case.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Veena Rani rejected Singh’s application seeking production of entire files of a case registered at
Kalkaji Police Station in 2,000 in which he was a prosecution witness.
In his application, Singh had alleged that the CBI had scuttled the probe into the case in conspiracy with the stamp mafias.
Questioning Singh’s locus standi, the magistrate said, ‘The case is at the stage of argument on charge. However, at this stage I find no merit in the present application for the production of aforementioned documents from CBI.’
