The tourism industry still has not come out from the shock and jolt after the mid-June natural calamity. The safe tourists’ places like Mussoorie, Nainital, and Raniket also received very less tourists comparatively to previous year. Now, the hoteliers in hill stations are pondering: will tourists flock to this place during Christmas and New Year eve? The transporters, entertainers, trek guides and porters are also waiting for the arrival of guests.

In this time of crisis, the state government is planning to prepare roadmaps to winter pilgrimage, just to compensate looses that the state suffered during the peak tourist season. The chief minister Vijay Bahuguna admitted that nobody thought seriously on this sector since the formation of this state. But, now the state government is coming up with dream projects that will redefine the concept of tourism in the state and spread its tentacles beyond the Char Dham limit.

State tourism minister Amrita Rawat told that annual pilgrimage can revive the sick tourism industry, and we are promoting winter sports and adventure sports on a national and international level. The accommodation and recreation facilities of all class tourists will match with the standard parameters.
