The popular band of the 90s 'A band of boys' is among the few lucky ones who got the opportunity to reunite and treat audience with their musical renditions once again. And it looks like they are in no mood to waste this opportunity. The 'Gori' hitmakers won hearts with their comeback song 'Yunhi Jalne ko', and now they are enthralling fans with their latest composition 'Chhori' – a soulful melody which talks about love and longing. In an exclusive interview, the band shares their thoughts about competition in the industry, future plans, and more.

Do you feel any pressure/competition in retaining your position in the music industry?

Karan Oberoi: There is no competition in doing what you love. The only struggle is to get better with constant practice. The love we have received over the years cannot be taken away. And so, there is no hankering for any kind position... just gratitude for all the affection.

It took nine months to come up with a new song...

Chin2 Bhosle: We're hoping to be a lot more regular with our songs. We are looking to collaborate and have fun with other artists, explore styles and expressions and who knows, maybe we'll collaborate with our fans too.

What are the factors you take into consideration before finalising a song?

Sherrin Varghese: For artists and musicians, it is extremely crucial to keep the song composition and production relevant to the changing times; as by the time the song is recorded, arranged, produced, dubbed, and mixed, it stands a good chance of sounding slightly old.

Therefore, careful consideration of all this takes time. Nobody can predict a winner but a good song should withstand the test of time. Plus we have a legacy to maintain.

You have been with the band since its inception. Was it difficult to direct them? Are you planning to switch to direction completely?

Danny Fernandes: Having been with the boys from day one, helped me a great deal in terms of how to get the best out of each one of them. So, it wasn't that difficult to direct them on the final day.

I'm not the only one behind the direction. My partners Kunjan and Savio are involved in it too. For now, choreography is our priority. We have just stepped into the director's shoes and taking things as they come. There is a lot to learn and long way to go.
