Shyam Sundar Company Jewellers' is all set to present 'Sharad Sundari 2020' during the festive season this year. 'Sharad Sundari' is a very popular and much-awaited annual hunt for the face with the most festive look during Durga Puja and this year it is on its 8th-year run.
This year because of COVID-19 safeguards and safety measures, the search is entirely online. Going by the initial response, the number of hopeful contestants will surely beat records of the earlier editions.
The curtain-raiser of 'Sharad Sundari' was held on October 18 with Monisha Sen, winner of the last edition of the festival. She shared her experience of life after winning the title.
"'Sharad Sundari' made a big difference in my life as people started looking at me with new eyes. Also the quality of assignments, which soon started coming my way after my win got better and better and in the process, so did the quality of my life and work," said Monisha Sen.
Arpita Saha, director of the festive competition said, " 'Sharad Sundari' started as a dream initiative to add a new dimension to all the celebration of the festive season. Today, we are really happy to see that it has lived up to that promise and has grown into a very popular annual hunt for the face with the most festive look during Durga Puja," she added.
Rupak Saha, co-director of the jewellery company elaborated, "This year, the preparations started with challenges. But we managed to convert it all into an opportunity by reinventing the format and going online."
"Contestants are required to visit sharadsundari.com and send their best festive look photograph for the initial screening and last date for enrolling as a contestant is November 7, 2020," added Rupak.
