London: Actor Lara Pulver revealed she almost reunited with her 'Sherlock' co-star Benedict Cumberbatch in 'Patrick Melrose'. The 37-year-old actor, who played Irene Adler in the BBC One series, said director of the forthcoming series had approached her about the possibility to play Cumberbatch's wife in the new show.
Things, however, did not come to fruition as both of them agreed that the established chemistry between the actors would have interfered with the new project's plot line.
"Well, the director of Ben's 'Patrick Melrose' project did call to ask about me playing his wife, but we both decided it wouldn't work. When you've already been seen in a relationship together on such a large scale..." she told The Telegraph. Cumberbatch plays an aristocratic philanderer struggling with substance abuse in the Sky Atlantic series.
