A software engineer has been missing for the last one week from his residence in Safdarjung Enclave area of south Delhi. The police, on Sunday, registered a case of kidnapping, even as it failed to find any clues in the case.
According to police, Sunil Parihar, 26, hails from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh and was staying at his uncle’s house in Krishna Nagar. He has been missing since 9 September. ‘He left the house around 3 pm without his wallet,’ said Shailender Singh, Parihar’s cousin.
‘When Sunil did not return by midnight, we called him on his mobile phone but it was unreachable. Next morning, we approached the police and lodged a missing compliant regarding the matter,’ said Shailender.
Finally on Sunday, a case of kidnapping was registered in the case. The family members, however, denied any personal enmity angle, said a senior police officer.
During investigation, it was revealed that Sunil’s mobile had dual SIM facility. One of the numbers was used a day after he went missing. Around 7 am, a labourer identified as Kamlesh was called from that number. When Kamlesh was traced, he said he did receive the call, but it seemed to be dialled by mistake as the call got disconnected after a few seconds.
Sunil works with a software company in Noida, Sector 63. His father, Devender Parihar, lives in Mathura and who runs a transport business.
